K&N Kodiak

Unless you add the K&N air filter and jetkit I dont think the Supertrapp is worth the money. I installed my supertrapp before the K&N air and jet kit. I could tell no noticable difference in power at all. When I finally got the K&N air filter on and jets installed to where I like them then I put the stock muffler back on and then I did notice a loss in top end speed. The Supertrapp is much faster top end wise than the factory. Low end is still questionable. If you want a supertrapp I honestly believe you will have to purchase the other two components to see a difference over stock.

I always thought all K&N filters were clamp ons. I guess because thats all I ever did see. Mine is a clamp on but its a universal one not made for anything in particular. I considered a pro-flow adapter but the only one I ever saw was on a banchee. The filter that you would have to use on that one wouldnt even go in our air box it was so large. So I got to thinking, "well our hole to the carb is offset to the left a little, wonder if I need to do any modifications to the adapter and wonder if the filter that you have to use will fit". After pondering on all this thats when I decided to make my own. That way I could make it to fit and if it worked great and if not all it cost was my time. Turns out it worked perfect and saved me around $70 for a questionable Pro-flow adapter and around $12 for a non-clamp on K&N.
I used to use a block of wood in back of my factory filter after it broke that one time.!!

There has got to be some kind of difference in the 1999prior and the 2000up filters.
Even at the Dynojet site they have different part#'s for the K&N filters.
(YA-4000 for the 2000&2001)
(YA-2597 for the 1993-1999)

Fpilot, I have the Cateye Enduro 2. I mounted the magnet on the green CV boot on the front axel. I had to cut the wire to make it longer, and mounted display on the handle bars. It is really easy to install, but takes some tinkering to get the setting calibrated right. I have mine just as acurate as any factory speedo, it has Max speed, Ave speed, total distance, elapsed time, dual trip meter, and a clock. Its way cooler than any factory kit. The only downfall i see is there is no light, so you cant really read it at nite. But for 25$ its well worth it. Some of them have lights, but i chose the Enduro 2 because its heavy duty, made for mud and water.
