Help me pick a sportbike
#1
I hope to find the funds to get my leg across a sportbike this summer. Here are the bikes i am interested in:
Honda VFR800
Honda CBR929RR
Honda CBR600Fi
Honda CBR1100XX
Kawasaki zx-6r and finally
Kawasaki zx-12r
Judging from my sample of bikes you can tell i have some desicions to make
I like to go fast but i don't think i'll need the 194 topspeed of the zx12 or the 180 of the cbr1100. there are alot of twisty roads in WV so i like the idea of the nimblness of the Fi and zx-6r. I like the vfr because the growl of the v-4 and the comfortable riding position. The nine-two-nine is just an awesome bike!!!
I'm leanin more in the direction of the 600 supersports because of the relativley bargain prices on them. plus i could save money for pipes and other little add ons. Naturally this is a honda forum and i'm a honda guy so i'm more interested in the CBRFi but have you heard a Kawi lately. Man they are the sweetest sounding bikes on the planet!!! Plus the candy apple green paint!!!!! SHHHHHEWWWW!!! And i'm sure Muzzy makes a system for the zx-6R
Can any of you guys help me or should i find a sport bike forum?

Did you forget about the R6 or just not interested? I've had a ZX-9R, R6 and R1. My favorite was the R1 and a close second was the R6. It was very nimble and light. My buddy has a 929 and it is nice, just not my taste. From your list, I'd go with the F4 (CBR600Fi).
Good luck...

cartman,
That sounds like a great idea. However between you asking about sportbikes and the other guy asking about snowmobiles, let me tell you there are forums out there geared toward those topics. Belive me, Im not capping on you but the next post we will see in here is what kind of dog should I get. There are other ATV forums that get out of hand, or rather way off the topic. Mabey you should post it in one of those B.S. websites.
Sorry if I pissed anyone off with this reply. But when I get a few minutes to check out this site and I see non related topics, I go crazy!
Goodluck on finding your bike Cartman.

i have very thick skin. you will hafta try alot harder then that to **** me off
i realize there are other forums out there. this is just one that i happen to frequent and ususally respect the opinions of most of the posters. when you see a thread that has a subject line that you do not have interest in the simply don't click on it.
BirdofPrey.....Im not to high on Yamaha bikes. Sure i've heard lots of good things about them esecially the R6/R1, but i really am a Honda guy at heart. it'll come down to the zx-6r and the F4. the others are either pigs (sans 929) or not peppy enough
thanks for the input fellas.

hogmaster,
do you know the difference between this ATV related site and others? It's the only place where lots of people see the posts and reply. I have a sled, have posted several time on what is supposed to be the most "alive" forum (snowmobileworld.com) and got 1 reply. Posted ti here and got answers to my trouble.
This is the deal...and don't you like talking about other vehicles than ATV...and can't you not look at the thread you don't like...no one orces you to read it...ok, it'll slow down your connection by .02 seconds...but we're still talking thrills, adrenaline, power, fun...burning tires...etc
BTW There's (to me) a huge difference between choosing a bike and a dog... I tried to get my dog running to 60mph...he didn't make it
I learned him how to do burnouts, wheelies though.

I've ridden all of these bikes and have experiance owning a few of them. The 600 class of back is very light and nimble and will be easy to ride on really curvy roads. If you don't have much riding experiance the F4 may be the bike you need. I believe after you've owned a 600 class for 6-9 months you'll will be bored with it. If you want the best mid-size bike on the market, the VFR800 is hands down the best. The VFR has good acceleration and excellent durability throughout its entire powerband. The only other thing about VFR is that it is so smooth it will give you the impression of being tame and well-mannered. If you want a asphalt shredding, light, nimble, wheelie-jacking burnout machine go with the 929 and hold on tight!!! Also please be careful on this machine. It has a very tame feel until you twist your wrist. This comes mostly from the three stage stock exhaust on this bad boy. Take it easy and ride red!!

I watched a big bore sport bike comparison on Cycle TV and it was mentioned all the bikes have a speed limiter so you can not go over 190mph.They said the top speed war is over but now it will be a war over which bike can get to 190mph the fastest.
