If i were to go out any buy one today from that list it would definately be the 929. That is one of the hottest bikes out there right now. It has one of the greatest looking paintjobs...i love it.
The 600f4i is a great bike if you are a beginner (because of the smaller size) or if you are into mid-sized bikes its great too. Nice and light, and now it comes with fuel injection (which is what "i" stands for). I think most people would agree that the cbr600 is one of the most reliable bikes you can buy.
The ninjas are great bikes too but i'm not into the "green" look...LOL According to everything i've read most of the ninja are the most comfortable sportbikes to ride so they are great for long trips.

hey how'd you like the zx-9r??? I looked those up on the website and are totally awesome looking machines for 2001!!!! Went to the Kawi shop but they didn't have any one the sales floor and i didn't have time to talk to a dealer I'd figure they'de be anice compromise between the zx-6 and zx-12. I'm a fairly big guy (6'1" 210) but not sure how long i would be happy with the zx-6/F4i. Kinda like gettin a 300ex then after four months getting bored with it and taking a lose to get a 400ex. Another bad mark the zx-12 is that a slip on pipe from Muzzy is just under $600!!!!!!!! And a full system is like $900!!! That too much dough!!! System for the 6's and 9's are about the same price ($400's for slip on and $600's- $1200's for full systems).

l8r and happy trails/roads etc etc etc

Actually, I liked the ZX-9R a lot. When I say my favorite was the R1, then R6, the 9R is still right up there with positive memories. The difference between the three as far favortisim is very close. I have not seen the new 9Rs, but I think you will find the power VERY close to the R1. The 9R is known for being a little more of a comfortable bike and with your size that may be more of an issue on some of the smaller bikes. Remember, the 9R was the first stock production bike to run a 9 second 1/4 mile (that was in '98). The only reason I sold it was because I thought I was ready for a cruiser so I got a Honda Valkyrie. Missed the riding style of the sport bikes and sold the Valkyrie (felt like I was riding through the country on my living room couch) for the R6. Thought I was ready to give up sport bikes and sold the R6. Nice weather came around and had withdrawls and got the R1. Now we have a baby due any minute now (literally) and sold the R1. Now, sport bikes are through for good.

Let us know what you get and be careful...

Being that this will be my first bike i decided to go with a 600 class machine. Three dealers told me the same thing: "We ain't talkin like this is the difference between a 125cc bike and a 250cc bike." or words to that effect. Yes i know i will get hurt just as fast on a 600 as a 1200 but best to start off small and work my way up. This left me with the zx-6r and the f4i. Picked up a Kawi brochure and looked at the bikes. Not all that impressed with the zx-6s. Looked at the F4i's the Honda guy had in stock (one red and black and two red and whites) wasn't taken by them either. Asked for a brochure and went home. Opened up to the first page and BANG!!!!!! There will be my first bike!!!! a Silver and black CBR600F4i!!!!! That bike looks SWWWWEEET!!!! Know i just need to get the money in order. Maybe in a couple months

thanks for your help fellas
let ya know how thinds turn out

Cartman308: Being super bike owner and rider, it really all depends on what you want the bike for. If your wanting one that will win on the street for comfort and performance the Hondas are the winner. You want a little comfort and street perfomance with a bit less reliability and Yamaha is your ticket. However if you wanting to waste anything that lines up next to you in drags. Kawasaki's are unbeatable most of the time. First if I were you figure out what class (cc) bike you want first. 600's Honda F4i is the best all around, yamaha the best looking and Suzuki the a## kicker of the bunch right there with Kawi, and just so you don't think i am biased I own a Honda CBR600 for years and loved it. But when it came down to dragging nothing touches the Kawi. 900cc or more, my vote goes to the CBR929. It with mods runs with or better than anything bigger. The Big Kawi ZXR 1200 I believe, way over rated, Have seen it get smoked many times by the Kawi 900's, R1's and CBR900's. Might want to add the Suzuki 750 on there now. They are all awsome, but the 929 or R1 can indoe and wheelie at will and in any gear. Hope this helps, but one thing I might add, ya the new bikes have governers on them, but after market takes care of that. The new bikes can still hit 180+ if tuned and aftermarketed right.

Later,
Scott M

derbyking: The first year the Susuki 1300 came out it was a 200plus mph bike. It isn't now, it comes with a limiter on it. It is no faster than really any other bike out there for top end. Rumors had it when I lived in Lincoln Nebraska that the new ZXR would of killed the original Hyabusa. However due to new gov. reg's it was detuned, that came from factory insider at plant. Just food for thought.

Cartman-

I bought a CBR600F3 a few years back and I love this bike... however- I caution anyone getting the 600... reason being-... after about a month of riding- you are wanting a LOT more power. I'm a big guy- 220 6'2... and I had some trouble getting the front end off the ground. The 900 class would pull me up at the blink of an eye-

So think about getting a 900 series... you'll get used to the power just as fast as the 600- and the weight class is about the same. The dealers told me the exact same thing... start with the 600 so you can get used to it... I say Bull$hit... start big, learn big... that way you don't beg for more power 1 month later...

Trust me on this one
