Does anyone know if there is a snow plow made for the 500 Scrambler? It seems to have enough low end torque, on a stock machine to do it w/o burning up the belt. I know a quad w/ a low range is more suited for this but it seems like it would work for just the 3-6 times a year he would need to plow.
Thanks
Jim

It was a cycle country and it took about 4 hours to do. I did not like some of the hardware. Too cheap but cycle country sent replacements free. The arm that attaches to the chain kept twisting. I have asked cycle country for a 99 500 plow but no answer yet

I'm sure a plow can be adapted to work on a Scrambler, but I think it's a bad idea. If you want to start tearing up your clutch real fast, snow plowing in high range is a good way to do it. You really need low range to plow any kind of deep snow at all. If I thought I could plow with a Scram I'd be doing it. I never plow in high range.

I just bought a 2000 Scrambler 500 "love it"
I also would like to put a snow plow on it.
The sales person I bought mine from has a
1999 Scrambler 500 with a plow, and said said
it works GREAT!!!. He is looking into getting one for me. As soon as I find any info out I will post it.

Eric . . . believe me . . . you don't plow snow in high range. You "need" low range. You don't have a choice, unless of course you wish to visit your sales person continually to purchase clutches and belts. It's kinda like plowing with a 2-wd pickup truck. Works good with a little bit of snow only. Your "Sales person" has no clue about real snow plowing obviously. Anyone can plow an Inch, try it with 18+ and it doesn't work . . . been there and done that. Just hate to see you waste your $$$ on something that will cost more $$$ in the future to maintain.

I'll bet that if you plow one season with the Scram500 you will be cursing it as a bad quad because everything is falling apart . . . the Scram was not made for that.
