Exclamation exhaust smoking after wrapping!

i just wrapped my exhaust because the heat on my leg (even while wearing pants) was getting to bad. to the point were it wasnt even fun to ride it anymore.well after letting it cure i started her up and rode off. after about maybe 5 to 10 minutes i noticed a burning smell and stopped to check and discovered it was me making that smell. well my question is ,is this normal for these wraps and it'll just go away ? oh by the way i used DEI pipe wrap for the job.

I have used the same wrap, and yes, that is normal and will should go away shortly.

Is this on an atv or the Commander?

This is an area where the full size riding boots shine. They are designed to help shield you from the heat/burns from the exhaust pipe. I have a few scars on my legs from the old school 2 stroke days. Once I started wearing boots, the boot takes that abuse and makes it much more comfortable to ride.

Ah, That is to bad. Even the $150.00 boots are pretty comfy and offer good protection these days. The trail boots are pretty easy to walk in also. Oh well, sounds like my wife, lol
