O.P.T.,just wanted to let you know the headlight mod was a success, easy peasy actually.I ended up going with the wiring diagram thumbnail you sent in my earlier post,it was a snap!
I was of two minds to go with the scotch connectors, but I had them on hand and I was not shy with the di-electric goop, ahhh I mean grease, hope I don't regret it but still a pretty simple fix if they fail, even on the trail with a knife and some tape.
Even put new belt on while I was in a good mood, the old one was as close to shredding as it could be.
By the way is there an aftermarket sub for the air filter,32 bucks at dealer isnt too too bad,but hey,a dollar saved is better than spent?

Never been a fan of scotch lock connectors in wet areas, but if you have then sealed up good should be ok. My I'd spend the same amount of money on a Uni filter that you can clean over and over.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uni-Dual-Stage-Air-Filter-Polaris-500-Sportsman-Scrambler-Trail-Blazer-330-/290960512163?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43be9914a3&vxp=mtr

I wonder if I can get the uni filter local, shipping charges ar the big killer for me,tight budget for toys according to the wife.
Also considering the reverse over ride mod, seems pretty basic to me.I was thinking about using an illuminated switch, kind of a warning to all that it is over riden.Would that work,do I need to take power from 12v source to make the switch light up.

Try calling local dealers if any are around. We stocked a few Uni filters just for people that didn't want a paper filter, especially if they were in a lot of sand. You might look at this on the over ride.http://forum.highlifter.com/m1385581-print.aspx

had a look, and very informative, more than one way to skin a cat.But what I was wanting to do was over ride the reverse over ride, and instead of just using a regular toggle use an illuminated toggle, and there is no mention of it on that site.It was just an idea that came to mind, trying to be creative I guess. And if it can be done(which I am sure can be)how would one go about wiring it up?
More homework I guess because IMHO it would be pretty cool !!!!!

Probably can connect the wiring as the 2003 and later diagram shows, plus on an illuminated rocker you need power and ground (red/white wire is hot when key is on and brown wire or frame ground.Probably need a three or 4 pole switch.
