Default Yamaha Moto4 250 compatible parts

Hi everyone,

I have a 1991 Yamaha Moto4 250 (YFM250B) and the starter is gone. I also need a need a front brake cable. They are hard to find or very expensive. I was wondering if the parts from a 350 are compatible? Or if maybe another model would do too?

Thanks
Michael

Here is a good parts site. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse just look up the starter and see if they have the same part number.
Is the starter missing or not working. You can get a rebiuld kit for $30.

Thanks, I'll check that link out.
But the starter is gone, it's all burned up inside.

My guess is the starter is used in many other models when you look it up.
Don't buy a OEM Yamaha 3GH-81800-01-00 from Yamaha get a aftermarket one for much less.

Here is one for $70. http://www.mfgsupply.com/smu0064.html The bottom of the ad has a link showing what other Yamaha atvs use it. Green link saying "This Part Fit".

The OEM is $259! which is insane.http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...91&fveh=189078

I might actually have a closer look and see if it's possible to rebuild it. Seems to be the cheapest way.
I wonder what I should use to clean all the parts up?
