help 81/82 honda 250r 3wheeler

Default help 81/82 honda 250r 3wheeler

hi im having an issue i just got this honda 250r it starts up 1st or second kick idles but once i pull the clutch put it in gear it jerks a bit n shuts off , (didnt even start releaseing the cluch at that point )

i got a second engine with that bike is in pieces but it is complete.

i can post video just need to figure out how to upload it from my phone to the site

iv been dieing to ride it iv been wanting one of these since i first started riding 3wheels

i took the clutch cover off and proceed to remove the bolts and springs got them off and noticed the plates were sticky so i swaped the plates and everything for the spare one i have but when i press and release the cluch it doesnt seem to move . is the push rod soppose to push the basket lid off and when u release it , it close's is this correct or am i wrong

Check photo #22 is ball in front push rod..this could be missing...When you press clutch lever it should lift the clutch plate off of basket so trans will shift then when release lever lift plate should make contact with clutch disc an starts pulling..If ball is gone this will make stroke to short an wont lift plate off of the disc..This is real easy to loose for me if not careful when pulling push rod out.

yes i am missing that ball, so if i can find one in my spare bottom end this will fix my stalling out when i shift into any gear ? also what are the torque specs of the springs and bolts on the clutch , i don't wanna over tighten them n have to buy new plates , thank you

Yes should fix your shifting if everything else in clutch is working ok.just an start in getting things correct..Im not sure on specs I will have to look 2mrw at shop an get them for you or you can google it.Your welcome Good Luck
