I HAVE A MAGNUM 500 4X4 AND A 325 4X4 WITH 25X1OX12 ON FRONT WITH 25X12.5X10 ON REAR.THESE ARE ONE OF THE BEST OVERALL TIRES FOR ROCKS,TRAIL RIDINGAND A LIITLE BIT OF MUD FOR FUN.AN BELIEVE ME LIVING IN TEXAS,I CAN TELL WE DO HAVE ENOUGH MUD AN WATER.MY TIRES ARE 4-PLY BUT I THINK IF YOU GO WITH A BIGGER TIRE THEY GO TO A 6-PLY.I HOPE THIS HELPSAND I DONT THINK YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED.

They seem reasonably priced to. Thanks for the info, Bear Claws will be my new rubber. I was going to go with the same sizes you have on your Mag. I do that same kind of riding, the srping will be more mudding cause after the 5 feet or snow melts every trail is muddy, doesnt matter how hard you try you will be mudding on every ride till the end of May, which you will not hear me complaining at all. Then the summer it rocky root infested trails. So an all around tires is needed. Thought about buying a huge pair of mudder for the spring and keeping stockers for the rest of the year , but I would like increased traction all year.

We’ve had Kenda Bear Claws on at least one of our machines for about 3 years now and if I had to pick one favorite all-around trail tire from the hundred or so out there, this tire would be it. I just put a set on our new Sportsman 6x6 and a new set on my wife’s HO. This is her second set of Claws and she loves ‘em. Before that we had them on her ’99 Mag 500. I don’t have them on my machine now just ‘cause I ran them for a while and I like to try different stuff.
My first experience with the Claws was with 25x10x12s on the front and 25x12.5x10s on the rear of a ’97 SP 500. I got used to having 10” tires up front but honestly didn’t like the extra effort it took to steer them. 10” tires also need a 7” wheel or you’re going to rub steering parts on a SP or a Mag. It doesn’t matter what year, on stock wheels you’ll rub. I had mine on ITP 12x7 steel wheels with a factory offset. My wife prefers light steering (don’t we all) so when we started putting the Claws on her machines we switched to 25x8x12s up front and there’s a world of difference. The 8s really steer nice and work just fine on stock wheels.
I have a pair of 25x10x12s with 80% of the tread still on them that I’d sell for $50 + shipping if anyone wants them. I was running them before I developed my Easy-Steer Kit or I might still have them on. The new steering geometry of the HO would help in turning a tire this wide, otherwise, personally, I wouldn’t consider anything over a 9” tire up front without something to aid steering effort.

Have you guys tried Maxxis Sur-Tracs yet? I'm looking at those or Bear Claws for my 98 SP500. Also, how many miles can you get out of these?
