Im new to the site and atv ownrship. Just got a 02 scram 500 ho 4x4, had to change some parts already. Hav a ques bought rear shock i no it has to be rebuilt its a fox. I hav a place that can do it but dont want to tie it up for a week or so"snow comin and all". Can i replace it with a shock from a diff model polaris atv and what year/model will do the job? Any info will be great or any info of place that may sell a rear shock with yellow spring cant seem to locate one.

 

Only rear shocks the Scrambler 400 and 500 have used from 95 on are the Fox shocks. You'd have to measure center of each shock eye for distance and try to find a shock that would bolt up properly if you were trying to go to a conventional shock,or have to buy a complete new fox shock which isn't cheap (over $300). Think I'd wait and have yours rebuilt and recharged.
