I can get a Maier plastiuc skidplate for $45 from Cabela's. I was wondering how it compares to the Armadillo which costs $85. With shipping the Maier would be over $50,is the armadillo $30 tougher? I am also open to any other suggestions. Thanks for any info.

 

Unless you are going to be smashing the biggest of rocks, go with the Maier. The one on my 450 has been on for 1800 miles of hard riding (trail/mud/hills) and it's all scratched up, but no holes or cracks yet. Besides, the plastic slides over the mud and snow easier than the metal ones.
