Code 21
#1
2014 Polaris Sportsman Big Boss .7 miles than an hour won't start flashing speedo needle recovered a code 21 (not in manual). Not a happy camper b any stretch. Drove it to the end of my lot yesterday to look at my boat put it in the shed all was fine then. this morning won't start for more than a few seconds.
Maybe it's a good thing the dealership is closed sundays.

Speedo flashing is usually sign of a low battery, especially since it wouldn't start the next morning. Have the battery load tested if necessary or simply take it to the dealer since it's still under warranty as it could be a charging problem. It's not impossible to have a bad battery straight out of the box or even a bad one during dealer set up.I had stacks of them at work. Plus I'd always have one on a battery maintainer. Bummer I know but things can happen to any vehicle regardless of brand.Code 21 was "loss of synchronization" on the previous year models and usually a bogus code.

Battery is throwing the motor over with no problem at all? I will be on the phone in the morning with the dealer, I like your theory of a wiring harness problem. If the unit has a code 21 in the ecm why don't they put the description in the owners manual ?? Your right on the bogus code when it fires it does not sound out of time it's more like an out gas and it's full. Thx I will post when I hear from the dealer.
