1986 Trail Boss 250
#1
Hi guys - I have an option to buy an indoor stored 86 TB 250. Looks like original tires, worn down so I know it has a fair amount of miles but it currently is buried under some things!
$50 - and it's mine. He thinks the seals dried up as it leaked out all the oil last time they used it. Thats his words - which I have zero experience with these era wheelers. We had a 94 and 96 poo wheeler when I was in high school...
It's a 2 stroke correct? So oil leaked out, must be injection oil? Also, does this have the same trans, High, Low, Reverse? I'm looking for it to be a fun little bomber for around the yard. We are moving, from the city, to hopefully a place with a huge yard and room to roam.
Anything these beasts had issues with?
Thanks!

Crank seals as the po said if it's been sitting up with gas/oil in the crank case. Gas is hard on seals, plus before I would do any thing major I'd do a compression check. If it's lower than 120 psi could need more than just crank seals. Crank case drain(10mm screw at the bottom of the engine) needs to be removed to drain any gas out. Could be a simple carb clean/carb kit, possible seals and it may run ok,but always expect the unexpected. Here's a pdf service manual that can help.
