newbie here need help wiring remote shut off switch

Default newbie here need help wiring remote shut off switch

hi im new here i just bought my son a nice 01 scrambler 50 and i bought a 3 wire remote shut off off ebay so i can have some control over him while hes riding around .it didnt come with that great of instructions i now 1 wire is postive/negative but were does the 3rd wire go ive tried searching web but found nothing any help will be great thanks

Just guessing,but seems like the wire should either tie into the cdi black(kill wire) or to the ignition switch black to ground out the ignition.

There's 6 wires coming out of key switch tried all of them nothing worked

ok so i messed around with it theres 3 black wires going into cdi box black wire,black/red, and black/white. the new remote i just bought wouldnt work but i had the old remote shut off that i thought didnt work and hooked it up to all 3 black wires one at a time and it worked with the black/red wire does that wire sound right not sure why the new remote isnt working

Blk/red wire should be the main power wire to the cdi. Black/white wire to the coil,black wire is the kill wire on the cdi. Sounds like you're just killing/grounding the power to the cdi which in a sense is the same as grounding the black kill wire to the frame. If it works with the old remote,should be good enough.
