Interesting thread, I've just bought three rotopax 2 gallon cans. Well two cans and one storage box. They are paired up and mounted neatly on the front rack.

Haven't been out with them or had fuel in them yet.

I have the rotopax 2 gallon (3 years old now)mounted to the lid of my front box and its taken a beating and still holding up very well. never a leak. ride with a couple guys with them as well and never heard a complaint. only thing I didn't like was the original spout that came with it took a crap. Stupid spill proof ones, but called rotopax and they said no problem theyed get me a new one coming free of charge and gave me the choice of another spill proof or a old school style spout. I took the old school of course. I've heard that the kolpins aren't bad but some issues with leaking after a while.

I just bought one of these brackets for my 350 because it only gets 65 -70 miles on its small tank. I like it because it takes no rack space up like a Roto. Can be front mounted as well.
If you lose the gas can it can be replaced cheap at any hardware store because its a common gas can.

Yup that would be my other alternative and much cheaper..I was just looking at the rotopax and they aren't cheap but they seem like high quality....

That bike that has it mounted on the front doesn't steer very well.

Get the rotopax, you won't regret it. And being so expensive you won't be careless enough to lose it.

I have the Rotopax that comes as 2, two gallon cans that twist together and have two clips that make it into a 4 gallon gas can that you can split in two. Cost extra, but I don't have to wrestle with a 4 gallon can. Also, if one of your spouts dies you still have one more. I've had them laying flat on my front rack off and on depending on where I'm riding. Had a leak once but it was my fault for not tightening the cap. Once I noticed it and tightened it, no problem. I also had the original EPA mandated spout break on me. I had run out of gas and was still a few miles from the nearest town. I gingerly used the other one and was able to get back. Like others have mentioned, Rotopax sent me two new spouts free that are the regular old style. I've spilled less gas with regular spouts than with the EPA ones.

That is a odd front Axle. LOL
I,m sure they go on the front as easy as the back.

I had a long walk home on that 350 when it run out of gas on me. I was to use to my 500 with its 90 mile range on a tank.
