So far I have been happy with my RCR Stage 1 kit. I did move the muffler mounting braket to the back hole on the Scrambler frame. This stopped any vibration that the muffler made. Much better now.

I want to go alittle further with my power upgrades. What should I do next?

For $50 I can mod my cylinder head and for $60 I can have the stock carb bored. These two mods should work good together and with the RCR Stage 1 kit.

Or for about $150 I can jump up to the Delta V-Force reed cage.

I guess I am not sure which route to take. I am sure that most of you will say to do all three for the best results. Any suggestions?

thanks.

ADam,

You'll most definantly feel the bored carb and decked head more so than the Delta-2 reed cage.

I personally would'nt go to all the trouble of pulling the plastics, gas tank and head off just to have the head decked/shaved unless I was going to drop in a wiseco and do some porting.

Did you get new wheels/tires yet?

The decision is all yours, if you're on a budget, the $$$ spent on head decking and carb boring would be a more sufficient buy (hp wise) than the reed cage at this point. I just personally feel that removing the head is a lot of work to do if your not going to go ahead and pull the jug and do a little engine work.............but if you have a budget, it may not allow that.

Anyway,........just my Opinion

I agree. The head mod would be the most significant change because the extra compression would give more bottom end. And you might as well put a Wiseco piston in while it is apart, because RCR says that the stock pistons will eventually crack. The carb boring may not be necessary unless you port the cylinder.

Good call guys. If I am going to all that wok, I better make it worth my wild and put in a Wiseco piston and do some porting as well.

I will be getting my wheels/tires as soon as I go back to work for John Deere this May. I am getting some 90% tread Titan 489's from a friend for very little. I will destroy these until I am ready to buy my new stuff.

Thanks.
