Just bought second hand chinese quad and various bits need attention, but this thing is bolted to the back of the frame near the battery with a pair of wires hanging off it not connected to anything.
Any idea what it is for ? and do i need it ?

Welcome to the forums.

If it's a smaller kids sized quad, I'd guess it may be for a remote stop switch.

 

It was the pull card kill. It did have a nylon card attached to it. You do not need it.
