Hi all!!! Have got a question bout headlights on my mudblasta china quad.
Bike has been purchased about a year ago and since then ive replaced the whole engine with brand new unit..now- night time ride put lights on they do come on but operate like **** and hardly shine my way through dark)-doesnt matter how good I rev it up-the headlights are pretty useless...until i start to brake and only while Im braking lights come on nice and bright!!!I mean WTF is going on..been like this since brand new.Any thoughts people?

 

oh and with a new engine a brand new gel battery has been put in...Just dont know where to look-or should I just ride and constantly brake at night to get decent light((shitt

You have a resistance in the lighting circuit which is by-passed when the brakes are on. Bad earths can cause strange faults, or it could be a faulty lighting switch. Whatever is causing the problem will get warm so look for something melted or discoloured.

 

of all else fails find the hot wire for your lights going into your switch and run it direct to battery. Just remember to turn your lights off as they will not shut off with the key anymore
