Hello all I am at my last straw with this ATV it has no spark
I have put a new battery in as the old one was bad I have changes the stator checked the plug and the coil I can't find a wire diagram for this model on the cdi I have 4 wires on one side and 1 wire on the 2 pin connector as well as a 4 wire regulator. I have 12 vdc going to the cdi but I have no volts to the coil I have checked the wires that go from the cdi to the coil and all seem fine I ordered a new cdi that was a DC plugged it in and tried Turing it over. Once I let up off the ignition switch the new cdi started smoking and blew the fuse. I put a new fuse in and the original cdi and everything turns over but still have no spark. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Is atv dc ignition or ac ?

 

I want to say its DC I have tested the wires going into the cdi and have 12 vdc

 

wow, please elaborate on which quad it is. can you tell us make/model? it is hard for me to imagine dc being the norm. i would venture to say it should be ac. we have lots of wiring diagrams, but need more information about your quad if available. did you buy it new? when it was running, did the lights stay dim until you revved it up? how did it fail you? we need a little history if at all possible.

 

It is a 2006 sihray 150cc is all thr info I can find it has never ran since I got it. It was given to me I have no history on it at all. I am not able to get any vac readings at all its all dc from what I can tell and the info I was give to determin if it was ac or dc.thanks

 

do you mean SHINERAY quad? LynnEdwards has an excellent write up about how to tell if it is ac vs dc. it is listed in the chinese section of the forum. read that thread and it'll help you determine which is which and what you got.

 

OK well so far nothing has worked to get this thing running I'm out of ideas. Ive replaced the cdi the coil the stator a new battery and still nothing any help would be great. Thanks
