Hello, I have a 2008 Manco Talon that is very hard to get running. I will do my best to explain. When I first start it up it fires right off then dies. I start it back up and does the same thing. After about the 4th time I can keep it running by just barely holding the throttle open. After it runs like this for about 3min. or so the engine revs up just a tad and I can ride as long as I want to, idles great no hesitation etc etc... but, I can cut it off and let it set for about 15min. and it's hard to get running again. I barely hold the throttle until the engine revs up just a tad and I'm ready to ride again.
I have adjusted the a/f and currently have it 2 1/2 turns out, I'm running seafoam in my 93 octane gas, measured 1oz. over what the can says, put a new NGK plug #DR7EA gapped on.028. A new air filter. I figure the pilot jet is gummed up and that's why I put sea foam in the gas but after changing to an NGK from an Autolite #4163 I can not even tell a difference on starting or running I'm beginning to wonder if it might be something else. Other than the starting issue this seems to be a decent atv and is very similar to the Polaris trail boss I used to have. I do plan on buying me a new Polaris in the real near future but would like to get this one straightened out for a spare if somebody needs one to ride with us if theirs is down or something.
