I heard that there is a state that requires not only running lights but break lights too. I want to know because I want to put them on my Rubi and I am sure that a dealer in that state would know what part I need to get.

Thanks

Michigan, and Wisconsin both require brake lights after sunset.

Running lights and brake lights should only be required if the vehicle can legally be ridden/driven on public roads. I don't know of any state that this is legal for ATVs.

Wyoming. Texas if you have a farm Triangle mounted on it. Those are 2 that I know it is legal to ride on the roads.

If you look on the exriders.com message boards there is a post about this subject. Somebody on there made a custom brake light setup for his 400ex.

We ride public roads all the time in North Idaho and have yet to be bothered. In fact, in Wallace they have roads marked which you are legal to ride atvs on in summer, and snowcats in winter.

Nice, another North Idaho rider... Yes, we can ride them here as well, just not on open highways like 95. I had this conversation with a police officer, even called the sheriff on it... brake lights are required if you are riding on the streets after sunset... you can get the little brake light switch at your local dealer, it costs about $5 and then you need the dual bulb light, andother two dollars. The switch justs resides on your brake cables and triggers when the rear brake is applied, and all you have to do is run a hot wire to the battery, voila.

Street riding is not illegal during the daytime, and no special lights are required providing you use hand signals. Love living in North Idaho. I almost forgot, you do need a mirror and street plates, along with the requisite insurance.

Hey DryFly,

Do you know the parts number. I am very interested in purchasing this part but my dealier here in MN doesnt know what I am talking about. Is that part specific to your machine? What dealier did you get it at? Name and phone if you have it would be great.

Thanks
