WOLVERINE FUN FACTOR
#1
I am considering buying a wolverine. I will not use it for a work use at all. It will be all play riding. I just want to know if the wolverine is as fun a an normal sport quad even though yamaha considers it as a sport (I dont). I wanna have something that I can play around on but it has got to be fun. Can it slide? I know it is 4x4 but I hope it can slide a little bit. How are its wheelies? What is the top speed? Also would you take it over a warrior or a 300ex?

My buddy has a 1995 Wolverine that he bought new from the dealer in 1999 (still in the crate). He uses it 90% of the time for sport/trail riding and loves it. This is one tough quad. He rods it constantly, and it never lets up. The 4WD is nice, though not quite as effective as my Polaris, but in terms of durability, it's hard to beat it. The thing about the Wolverine that I admire is the fact that it has a very good power to weight ratio. He can keep up with Scramblers and Sportsmans without any problems. He can wheelie and backslide to a decent degree, and for pit riding, etc. this bike is very effective, due to the full time 4WD. In all, a very capable quad, and with the recent addition of racks, very versatile...

It really depends on what you want to do. If you like riding in mud and trail , its perfect. But if your whealing to go in sand dunes for sure the 300 ex or the warrior well be a better bike.
One of my friend has one and his top speed varies around 88 km/h.

Hey Brad,
I own a 99 Wolverine since last fall and so far I love it. Mine looks a bit different with some of the mods but its a great bike and I like that its different looking. I just removed the rear seat and windshield for the spring and summer. Last fall when I first got it, I went on many trail rides with my buddies. 1 drives a 01 Banshee stock and the other a 400ex piped and jetted. In tighter trail riding, I kept up with them although it takes aggressive driving and skillful shifting with lots of throttle to achieve this. This is one thing that I loved about the Wolverine. Something that you can't do with the sport machines was go through water and mud like you can with a 4by, so I had best of both world's. As you can see by my site so far, its mostly winter driving pics because I just purchased my digital camera in Feb. But soon the snow will be gone and I will be hangin' with the sport machines soon enough again and am planning on getting some nice action pics up on my site soon.
