hi i have a 2003 kodiak 400 special edition. i bought the bike used and have been working on fixing it up. the rear axle had the splines wore off it so i replaced it with a durablue axle, but when i slide it into the rear diff there is some play in it. i went to my dealer and asked and the guy behind the counter told me that about a 1/4 of an inch of play is normal.

my question is, is it really normal? or should i look at replacing the parts inside the diff as-well? it just seems very strange to me to have some play in it wouldn't it wear down the splines on my new axle fairly quickly?

hopefully I'm wrong and some play is ok because the parts are expensive haha.

I'm not familiar with that part but it sounds like u need to check ur diff and fluids
