Anyone owned a Linhai Bighorn 28?
#1
Hello,
I was searching the net trying to learn all I can about this particular UTv and came across this site. One gentleman here is an owner so I registered and pm'ed him and he was very kind and replied and gave a great report. Just wondering if there are others that may own one or have in the recent past. In my research I have learned that Linhai is one of the few types of these off brand UTv's that is fairly reputable and has worked with Yamaha on some projects. The few owner reports I have seen are mostly very favorable. As many dealerships in the US as there are selling these, I figure if they were total trash then there would be numerous reports of issues. I'm just not finding that in my searches. It is human nature after all, if something works as advertised you just use it and enjoy it, only when there are major issues or problems do people generally take to the forums to vent their rage and disgust.
I'm getting the YTV for mostly work around a small acreage, some light trail riding, nothing extreme or "over the top". I've owned Kawasaki and Suzuki and Honda Atv's. Even with those I was never looking for "extreme" performance. So any actual first hand use of the Linhai Bighorn, please reply! Thanks

Oh ok thanks for the advice. How long did you own yours and what were the issues with it?

I worked at a dealership that sold them and we could not get parts for the. When they ran they were just ok, but when there was any issue the required parts they became junk.
You would be better off the buy a good used Rhino. I bought a 07 for $4500 and it's great

Ok thanks. Problem is, in my area at least, anything for sale is overpriced and beat to death. Nothing I would give more than a $1000 bucks for, yet they want $8,000. I been watching for used ones via craigslist and other classifieds and it just doesn't happen here. I live near lots of places to ride and people just wear them out, and because they paid a fortune for them new they expect people to pay them a fortune for them used. And while parts may be plentiful for the big names, maybe not, the prices the name brand dealerships want to fix them is equally outrageous. Again, thanks for the advice, I take from your post you didn't actually own one? I know some issues are build quality, but treatment and maintenance also are a huge factor in how long something lasts and how reliable it is. I never got off on submerging my atv's in deep mud, to me that's just asking for problems.

DO NOT Buy a Massimo! I bought a Massimo and had a Problem with the exhaust shortly after starting using it. Turns out they have a problem with their exhaust that they have failed to address the issue. I also could NOT get it worked on under Warranty!!! Every Dealer they had listed for warranty work said they Would Not work on a massimo because the company was hard to work with and it would take forever to get parts from them. I tried several dealers and had no results. I even called massimo myself , Twice. And Never received a return phone call. If Dealers can't get parts while under warranty how is an Individual supposed to get parts when the warranty runs out? I took it back to Tractor supply and told them I was going to get a Lawyer. They took it back and refunded my money. ... Stay away from "Chinese" Products!!
