speedometer not working "00" xplor 400 4x4. any clues

Did you notice if your 4wheel drive stops working?my friends was doing that and we found the ground wire going to the speedo was broke but not all the way,so it worked on and off and I would make the 4wheel drive do the samesomehow polaris has them connected together.The wire goes to the speedo I think it was brown.Hope that helps

found the problem today, it was the speedo needle
some how it worked past the odometer reset.must be all the bashing my machine receives I'm a little hard on it. I took the speedo off and had to drill a small hole through the side of it, and with the drill tip I pushed it back to the other side, then filled the hole with a dab of silicone. thanks for the input harleydude, hope that never happens.
