Default 04 330 magnum starter help

Just bought this from a friend. It needs a starter. I have never put a starter on and I am finding it pretty difficult. Do I have to remove the clutch and belt and all that stuff to get it off? I cant get the screws out enough to remove it. If so how do I take off the clutch and other stuff. Help please!

Bottom bolt is hard to get to. I didn't fight em,I just removed the clutch cover, drive clutch and front seal plate to where you could pull the backing plate out far enough to get the bolt out. You have to have drive clutch puller.

Not sure if the 330 is the same but on the 500 I just loosen the bottom bolt ,it would release but not come out because it would hit the clutch back plate, then I removed the top bolt (Its easy) and rotated the starter with channel locks until the bottom bolt was at 12 oclock and able to be removed.

It was alots easier the removing the clutches like the manual said. You do have to remove the air box though to get at the starter but that was no big deal.

I loosened the bolts but it seemed that they wont pull out far enough to get the starter out. So I have to remove the clutch cover to get them all the way out? Then that means I have to remove the clutch and all that other drive stuff. Correct?

325/330 always seemed to be a little harder than the Sportsman 500 on the bottom bolt. Like I mentioned I didn't fight that bolt,I just pulled the clutch cover, front clutch and seal plate to where I could pull the backing plate out far enough to get the bolt out, plus room to back the starter out. Yes you'd need the clutch puller.A lot of trouble for one bolt.
