I'm wanting to improve the nightriding on my S500. Thinking of replacing the pod with some real highbeams mounted on the front end, probably next to the low beams.

Any ideas? Standard 55w aftermarket lights? Fog or Driving?

Any and all help appreciated.

 

I to am intrested in this topic. I have a Magnum 500 . I have heard somnwhere that the standard high beam could be replaced with a larger watt lamp. I believe it was replacing the 60 watt with a 100 watt can,t remember where I saw that though. Maybe someone can refresh my memory.

I used low profile driving light and they work great. They are small and still 55watts. I mounted them on the top of the front rack and they fit perfectly in between the rack and the acc. bar. I also changed to the 100watt high beam buld, that with the driving lights really lights a path.

 

Some time ago on this forum I had mentioned putting a 100-watt bulb into the Sportsman headlight. Actually the bulb comes from the snowmobile headlight which can be acquired from your local Polaris dealer for about $10 I think. I have had a 100-watt bulb in my SP500 for a year now and it works great. If and when this one bites the big-one I will replace it with another 100 watt'r. The Sportsman has a 250-watt alternator so it can handle the extra power required without a problem.
