Default 2000 250 trail blazer carb problems

I rebuilt the carb and I must say I don't remember which notch the clip goes on for the needle value. I tried different levels and it's just not right. When I give it gas the atv makes a bog sound. I haven't tried riding it yet. It runs smooth until I give it gas and starts that bog noise. Anybody know what"s happen? and what should the main needle be set at / put the clip on. Any help will be nice. I just got another kit to rebuild because this one has pieces for the choke cable where it goes in the carb. I just rebuilt it again with a different kit and same thing. BOGGGG when gas is given. Also the book says one turn out for the air screw right?

Usually clip is in the 3rd position from the top. This pdf of the fuel section part of the manual deals with the VM30(your carb) along with the VM34,BST34 and Bst40.Should be able to answer your questions.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...,d.aWw&cad=rja

Thank you. I do have these pages I see with your link. I'll go over it again. Lets see what happens. Do you think my floats could be off a little?

On this just have the carb siting upside down as the manual shows. Float arm should be parallel with the carb body, measure .051 I think. If the float pin is worn and float arm is worn and wobbly(a lot are after a few years) the float arm can stick causing problems. These may need to be replaced as they don't come in carb kits.Items #25,26.Dirt Cheap Yamaha & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse
