Help!!!! This is driving me nuts.Nut sure just what the problem is ... install a new battery on the atv ... ride for for few hours ... tool light goes on..on the display .. for a short time then the engine dies... this is tells me running off the battery and not charging ???. Recharge the battery ... again does the same thing ... what can this be...

 

Did you get the ECM brain box recall? ATV: Polaris Ind. expands recall of ATVs

 

If My memory right ... had that recall done when we got the quad back in 2006 .. beginning to wonder if I need to have it recalled again ??

 

Thx TLC...Will ck in with Polaris shop to see if I can replace the ECM again with no charge ... as if my memory right I had once done this recall with them ... if not work out will purchase one ... thru ebay ..amazon ??

 

First check that if it is charging back to the battery,14 volts or so. Have the battery load tested if it is charging to see if it can hold the charge. If it's not charging back to the battery and you've had the ecm replaced under the original recall and is on record ,Polaris wont pay for a second one. At least I could never get a second one warrantied.Sucks I know as I've had to replace multiple ecms on the same atvs and several members on the forum have also. Just check around as to who has the best prices. This one box imo controls too many things: charging,fan operation,circuit breakers,battery protection circuits,etc. Too many things to go wrong,but really no way around the ecm.
