i have 2 quads a 2005 700 twin efi with upgraded ati rims and tires.... and a 1996 polaris 300 explorer 2 stroke no mods......ok , ive done alot of reading on using my old set of chrome 4/156 rims on the 300 explorer....i have purchaced the 2003 500 predator rear hubs and installed today.....


the hub splines fit perfect but there were 2 problems....

1) the 4/156 hubs are about 1/4 inch thicker than the original 4/4 300 polaris hubs...i installed with no washers and half a cotter pin through the locking hole..

2) the original 26 inch polaris tires installed on the new hubs are wider and will rub the muffler on any bumps...


fyi... i will not be doing any riding until i get the hubs turned down so i can fit the washers and cotter pin and deal with this muffler rub...


these were 2 problems that i had not read anywhere on the internet so it is new to me....any ideas on how to clear the muffler besides buying offset rims ?

has anyone done this before ? (i know they have..lol)

Seems like you're the second one that's done this lately. Basically all Polaris straight axle hubs will interchange,but the Predator is the one that's different.Possible to just use washers,depending on how far out you need or wheel spacers https://sites.google.com/site/nellie...amaha-kawasaki Plus this may help on sizes.
