Default Kodiak 450 4X4 Broken Swingarm

So the cell phone rings "dad I'm at the top of the mountain and the swing arm on your quad is broken in half"

Really!! I never broke a swing arm in my life!!!

So now I need to find a swing arm.

Questions:
Where to buy?
What else should I replace while apart?
How difficult is it to replace?

AND WHY DID THIS HAPPEN??

It appers to be rotten on the under side (left side looking from the rear) Anyone else have this happen???

I assume its an SRA (2003-2004)

Here is one on eBay:

I've never replaced one but I would replace the swing arm bushings.

I thought the 450s were IRS.

The first few years they were solid rear axles. Honestly I would prefer that if I were to buy one. Less weight, lower center of gravity and sportier handling. No cv boots to get ripped off either, that was the achilles heel of my Grizzly 660.

The broken swinging arm is a fairly common fault on early belt drive Yams. It is not a particularly strong fabrication (weldment).

Well I ordered it and I'm waiting for it to come in. It's primarily used for hauling wood and hunting. Was very surprised that it broke to be honest.

Now my sons Grizzly 350 4X4 IRS is making a "click" "click" "click" as the rear wheel turns.........can only imagine what that may be Thinking a bearing inside that CV boot
