Hi everybody this is my first post to this site. I have a stihl 031AV chainsaw engine (max RPM 12,000) and I want to put it on to a bicycle with 26" wheels. I want to have a top speed of about 55-60 km/h. What size driving and driven gears should I use to get this speed. PS the pedals are still on the bike so lack of takeoff power is not an issue as long as the top speed is what I want... Any help is greatly appreciated

 

Also if anybody knows how I can weld the sprocket on to the clutch (ARC) Without destroying it that would be helpful

 

For years I've thought of the same thing but why settle for one engine when 24 works.

 

The Dolmette has 170 horsepower and does 0-60 in 3 seconds. I don't know what the top speed is but I would never hit it.
