Checklist:
Red slider kill switch
On the wiring harness/Loom-all quick connects are tight & you've checked inside each one to verify that none of the spades pushed back & are making good contact
No surface rust on pickup at stator (magnet)
Check coil & coil wire for damaged wiring/crimped wires
Check clearance of pickup magnet @ stator

Is your ignition system (i.e. CDI) powered by moderately high voltage AC from the stator, or by 12 volts DC? Do you know how to tell the difference?

Does your CDI have six pins (2 pins in one connector and 4 pins in another)? When you replaced the CDI, are you sure you bought the right kind (DC powered versus AC powered)?

Have you eliminated kill switch issues related to your no spark problem? Do you know how to do this?

Thanks for the replies. I filled out the Taotao support forum. As soon as it gets below 100 degrees in my garage, I'm going to work on it,

Verified Ac voltage. 56volts from wire harness. 6 prong cdi. I don't know how to check kill switches.

You can eliminate all the safety/kill switches by unplugging the kill wire from the CDI. Look at the CDI from the plug side, with the plugs toward the top, then unplug the wire at the top of the 2 pin plug. If still no spark, the problem isn't the safety/kill switches.

I removed the kill switch wire from the wire harness. It started. Will not shut down. Turning the key off won't do it either. What do I check out now?

Now you need to find where that wire is grounded.
