Hi and thanx in advance for any help. Bought my son this go kart today..only to get home and him to lose the key 1 hour later..if i unplug the switch will it still start by jumping the solenid until i buy another key switch....thanx

 

On most systems there is a kill switch wire from the CDI, this either needs to be earthed or not depending on design, this wire will control if the machine will fire up when the solenoid is shorted.

 

Some are also just 2 wires, look on the backside of switch. If so, just connect both wires until you get a new switch.

 

Just jab a screwdriver in the key and give it a good twist.. Thats how i started my little ones quad when i first got it
