Default 98 sportsman 500 suspension

Hi guys I have a 98 sportsman 500. After I ride it the rear end sits a lot lower than it did before I went for a ride. If I pick up on the back rack it lifts up the rear end a few inches and stays were it should until I ride it again. I have greased all fittings and I don't see any broken springs, and I believe the adjusters for the rear shocks are not broken. Is it possible the bushings are junk and the a arms are binding? Any help is appreciated thanks.

You can try adjusting spring tension up and see if that helps. If it doesn't might be time to replace the rear shocks especially if they're the originals and 17 years old.

I just looked at the rear shocks and they set to the softest setting. I will try to adjust them on Tuesday. I'll be sure to let you know how I make out. Thanks opt.

Big difference if you click the pre load collars to the stiffest setting (#1 softest). If that does not work you can get aftermarket HD springs.
