Help with oil change
#1
Hello,
I´ve already read some topics but still have a doubt.
I have a Trail Boss 325 2X4 and the oil that is advised by Polaris is 0W40 Synthetic, but here in Portugal it´s not easy to get this oil.
can we use the 5W40 Synthetic instead?
Thanks for the help.

5w40 is fine.. Even better if you can find Rotella T6 5w40. Heavy duty oil made for diesels, has a higher concentration of zinc for cleaning and protection than most auto oils, plus is even Jaso ma,md rated for motorcycle engines with wet clutches as it doesn't have friction modifiers.Being that Polaris doesn't have wet clutches to begin with, oil choices are really up to the individual.Anything from 0w40,5w40,5w50,even 10w50 in extreme temperatures are ok to use.Main thing is to use a good quality synthetic. Same thing on filters. Here's a list of alternate filters for the Polaris #3084963 oil filter.http://www.oilfilter-crossreference....OLARIS/3084963
