I have order the optional speedometer kit for a 2000 Magnum 325. I haven't any idea what it looks like (nor does the Polaris dealer). I believe (guess'n)it may come with the center handle bar cover? It retails for 119.99$ vs my trail boss which was purchased for 75$ back in 1998. Maybe I will just have to wait until it arrives!

I think they cost more because of the newer style & function. I haven't seen one on a Magnum yet, but the one I put on my Scrambler (same price) is identical to the Sportsmans, Magnum 500s, Xplorer, etc. except for mounting. That is bike specific.

The newer ones ('99+) work better, and the needle won't bounce around. The tripmeter, hourmeter, and odometer are digital. It has a white face guage & lights up at night. Really nice. Check it out here:

I bought the same machine about 6 mo ago and thought about the spedo also. I decided against it because the thing isn't that fast to worry about. Instead I installed an hour meter to keep track of service. I really like my 325 so far. I use it around the farm and some rubber necking where I shouldn't be. Hasn't let me down yet execpt for the sand bar that swallowed me. I learned a lot from that one. I put the meter on my self. It came form Farm and Fleet.

I have it on my magnum and it looks like the ones on the 500s. Its been nice but it keeps getting moisture on the inside. It was kinda simple to install. The only pain was finding the wiring harness to plug it into. After a 130 hours i havent had the first problem. In the next month or so im going to have to replace the brake pads. Its been an excellent machine.

Quad_man, thanks for the http address. The The Polaris Magnum 325 part number differs from what the Scrambler uses. The Magnum 325 part number #2872452. All the Y2K Scrambler models have a different part number per the new Polaris accessory book. This probably do to the mounting / installation of each quad.

I do hope it will be the same as pictured. It is one hellava better look'n than the generic unit my 98-TB250 had.

Thanks again, Muddn
