Default Sport quads

I'm from SE WI. I grew up in the UP and had a lot of trail riding as a kid up there. Put 7k miles on a 96 Polaris xpress 400! I've since ridden bikes and utility quads.

It's my turn. I want a sport quad. Looking to spend under 2k.
Here's what's on my list.
LTZ/KFX/DVX (I read on this site that they are the exact same quads)
Predator/Outlaw
400ex

I like that the quads that are not the honda have reverse and are liquid cooled.
I know a decent amount about the 400ex but can some people educate me on the LTZ line and the predator line? I'm going to purchase a machine that's as close to stock as I can get. Don't want big bore and all that stuff done. Just want a stock quad.
So, what can you tell me about those machines?
I was told this is the place to ask and get answers.

Thanks in advance!

Might be able to find a Raptor 660 in that price range too. A bit more power than any of the rest and they have reverse too. Here's a nice one close to me in that price range 05 raptor 660 The newer 400ex from 2004 on I believe did finally get reverse but I think it was an option and not standard so you'd have to ask to make sure if you look at one. The air cooled engine on the 400ex didn't make quite the power of the liquid cooled machines but they were very reliable.

The Suzuki triplets engine is derived from the dr 400 dirtbikes. It has been around forever and is pretty reliable. This machine is a direct response to the 400ex, and has made improvements over the Honda in many ways such as power and suspension. Honda added reverse to the 400ex about 2005, any machine with 2nd Gen plastics will have reverse. Either rof these is a great trail quad for someone not looking to put a lot into it, just general.maintenance and go ride.

Greg mentioned the 660 raptor, and while I am a Yamaha guy, I would say educate yourself on them before buying. Nothing inherently wrong with the 660 thay can't be changed via aftermarket if needed, just not my fav. Personally, I feel the z400 is about the perfect trail quad. I would take a 700 raptor too, but the they might be out of your price range.
