Default 2005 Big Bear Professional, your opinions please.

Hi all, new here.

Not long ago I aquired a Canadian edition big bear 400 pro. It is a 5 speed with high low and reverse. The machine has very low miles.

Just curious what you folk think of this ATV?

Thanks

If taken care of, very good, reliable machines. Enjoy!

Thanks, that's very reassuring.
I'm new to atv s.

I changed the diff fluids and engine oil/filter. Had the carburetor rebuilt by a local small engine shop.
The BB iss now running like a champ.
Has Kenda Bearclaw tires.
Was in the snow yesterday and noticed my rear diff locked up. Can you tell me what type of locking diff does the BB have?

thanks

As far as I know, the rear diff is a solid straight axle....and both rear wheels always pull.....always locked up so to speak.

Yes, it's a solid axle. Good to hear it has a permanently locked rear diff, have not noticed any dragging of tires around tite corners.

The only problem I have had is the rear diff vent oozing diff oil, not sure why, because the vent hose is located high up in front of the engine.
Checked diff fluid level and saw little to no change in the oil level.
Why should this be??

Overfilled, heat, pressure. I recommend draining, and refilling with fresh lube...then keep an eye on it.

Replaced the diff fluid, will keep an eye on it. I suspect the problem will sought itself out.
