Does anyone know the "dealer price" for
a 2000 Sportsman 500? Dealers in Idaho
have 99 models for $6200 and 2000 models
for $6500. Is that about average?
After reading all the posts about repairs on earlier Sportsmans, I think the year 2000
is well worth the extra $300. Comments??

 

First of all, I'd go with the Sportsman over the Grizzly. I think you'll get more for your money. I also think you're right with the waiting for the 2000 models. I don't plan to re-sell my 2000 model, but if one were to want to do that any 2000 model would fetch a higher resale than any 1999 model. It's a mental percieved value thing I guess. I live in S.E. - not too far from you. there are some excellent riding areas north of 8th street.

just talked to dealer today he said 00 were going to be higher,don't know if any changes other than new decals.They will have to have the money so they will be y2k compliant.

No longer an issue.
I am buying a Kodiak.
The Polaris dealers just
can not compare to the Yamaha
operations.

 

The only other change from 99 to 2000 is
an improved slide switch for 4wd/2wd
selection. But like ChrisP said, it just
seems better to have a "newer" machine
down the road.
