Can't get my TRX300ex Into Neutral
#1
I just bought an 07 Honda 300ex and it is in excellent condition. I had her out for a bit today and was just riding around the neighborhood getting a feel for her and I could not get her into neutral. Is there a trick to it? It didn't matter how much I squeezed the clutch lever and tapped the gear shifter down, it wouldn't go into neutral. Is this a sign of something going out in the transmission? Anyway's this is my first four wheeler and I am learning. Thanks for the help

Neutral is between first as second. It is a "half shift" and takes a bit to learn how to do it. If you are in first, you actually need to pull the shifter up a bit with your foot. I have an earlier 300ex, and it can be tough to get into neutral. Probably one of the harder transmissions I have owned over 30 years actually.

Shifting fine otherwise?
Can't remember if they're cable or hydraulic clutches. Maybe a little adjustment of that would help too.

You can rock it back and forth a little bit while half-shifting, sometimes I'll rev it while half-clicking in first for it to find neutral or coasting it while going 10< and it'll find neutral a bit easier. This is what I do on my 2000 300ex and it'll go in a bit easier
