Default Ac 500 locker

Is there a front locker made for a 1998 Arctic cat 500 4x4 manual shift? Please help.
Either selectable or auto lock.

Nope. Years back some guys used to mention welding the spider gears together to make it full time locked (whatever that actually means, because I do not know). There was also talk of whether you could swap a front diff with an AC300 (which I think shared the old King Quad 300 diff - didn't have the diff lock selector, but the linkage could be modified supposedly to move the differential selector itself to that position like the KQ could). I never heard of anyone actually pulling it off back then.

Yes. The ratios are different. One guy pieced one together from a 300 and a 2000 ac500. Quite recent on YouTube. I'm not really mechanical so I will run with what I have. Thank you.

Do a search for some specific terms, and go to the very last page of the results, then work your way forward through topics. This forum format changed up around July 21st 1999 (which is why my signature shows that date - we all had to make new logins when they got a new format, I've been here since 97 really). I think so the searches should be able to go back to that time. If its there, you should be able to find some old topics, because thats when that 500 was AC's flagship and most of the talk around here surrounded it, the 400, and the 300 (which is all you had to pick from back then anyway.
