Default 400ex front caliper wont go on after new brakes

Well my 400ex was acting up. So I saw the wear indicator was all the way out, So I replaced my pads. I new things were going to smoothly, and when I went to put the caliper back on the metal mounting plate hit the rotor, and I could not get it to go on. The metal mounting plate is supposed to move according to the service manual. And help would be great. Would like to go ride this weekend and without brakes it isn't possible.

I use a c-clamp to "compress" the piston(s) back...when I do this I use the old pads. If you did a simple pad swap then the new pads will be wider than the old worn pads (piston being in same position) so it wont slide onto the rotor...

One done check the fluid level in master as well...

No, that is not the problem. I found it now though. The caliper pins are rusted in place, not allowing the caliper to move back and forth, so the mounting bracket is hitting the rotor. But with a lot of penetrating oil and 3 days, Some heat on the caliper did the trick to remove it.
