I know this is an old subject but what was the general feeling about removing the two flaps inside the intake tube? I look at it and one part of me says that this is only restricting air induction while the other part says it must be there for a reason. Who's tried it and does it or worth the time?

 

Forget the flaps. Makes no difference. Throw the whole lid away. Screw the filter to the airbox. And jet it way up. Big difference even with stock pipe.
