Just bought my first quad. A 2003 raptor 660. And before i beat it up, i want to complete the maintenance.
Just a few newbie questions... what brand oil filter, air filter and plugs are most widely used? Also what oil is good? Also read to people running these with no lid on the air box?
Any help is appreciated, thanks

 

Oil filters just run stock or possibly one of the stainless steel ones. Air filter uni, stock, or any decent foam filter. I have had good luck with twin air and no toil too. Cotton gauze like k and n style is better for sand though. Plugs NGK or go home, lol. Oil best bang for the buck is the shell rotella. Any oil that does NOT have an energy conserving seal should work fine.

As for running with no lid, I don't. Dirt and dust kills engines, I prefer not to abuse mine that way. If you do go that route, run a pre filter.
