Default cv axle or bearings

My 4-wheeler's front right tire spins without getting traction. I don't know if that's my cv axle that is damaged or the bearings. When I make a kind of sharp right turn it makes a pretty good metal grinding noise, right in that area. Also the outer boot on the axle has a rip in it. But I could drive the bike forever as long as the ground is flat.

When a CV boot splits dirt and water gets in, and can cause rapid wear. There will be a distinctive clacking sound, knock, knock, knock as you turn a corner, from the worn CV assembly. However a wheel loosing traction seems much more like a limited slip diff problem than anything to do with the driveshaft. Fix the CV problem, and while you have the front end up, stick it in 4WD (if it is switchable) and turn one wheel by hand. There should be resistance, but it should be possible to turn it (opposite wheel going backwards). No resistance, or an inability to move the wheel indicates a diff problem.

Everythings good far as the resistance and everything. I'll try the cv thing.
