Default yamaha 2007 big bear 250 --oil in stator -flywheel area

hi... removed the stator cover to check the starter clutch due to it slipping and finding some oil in the that area ,,not a lot but enough to fill a couple of shot glasses
I hadn't pulled the flywheel yet until I get the right bolts for the puller ..
can anyone tell me having oil in there is that normal ? or what should I be looking for ? or whats going on and why some oil in there ?
much appreciated for any answers ..

Some alternators run dry, some in oil. The 125 Breeze is dry, the 350 and upwards are wet, never had a 250 cover off, but my guess would be wet.
