Default Coolster 125cc Cuts Out at Full Throttle

I bought my son a new Coolster 125 for Christmas. It starts easily, idles nice, and runs good until you really give it some throttle. Any sudden throttle over about 3/4 will cause it to die out unless you back off. I noticed if I give it about half choke it doesn't do this.

I assume this this means it is starving for fuel. It's has only had about two tanks though it and always treated with sea foam. Do the make bigger jets? I read one post where folks were drilling the jets. It there a known fix for this?

Thanks

I would check the float level. If its set to low it will starve for fuel at higher speeds

Cool coolster

Hi, I have the same engine and have had this problem before. One thing to check is your main jets. The way to check that is by going into the carburetor bowl, taking out the screws inside the float, and inserting something like a paperclip through the small holes to clear them out. Then, once you have confirmed they are clear, put some carb cleaner down the top of the screws. Finally, put the jets back in, and it should run nicely.
