Default 2009 Yamaha 400 big bear hunter edition.

It's me again I have a 2009 Yamaha 400 big bear hunter edition. I need to replace the joins in the rear driveline. Are they a special tool I need to do this. Can't get the driveshaft out they say it has to be removed and replaced by knocking out the unjoints to get the driveshaft out. Are they a better way.

Never done it, but 400 King Quads look to have the same set up on the front prop shaft and you have to split the UJs to get the shaft out on them. As the UJ yokes are part of the shafts, they will have to be split anyway if you are fitting new ones. Can't say for certain but most have circlips on the inside which have to come off. Then you can knock the old uj bearings on the diff and engine yokes through, and remove the shaft. Mark the splines before splitting the shaft in case they can be fitted wrongly.
