Default Honda carb problem

I have a 86 Honda 250es big red, took carb off and soaked it over night in carb cleaner, installed a kit with new float needle, it still leaks. The kit does not come with a new float seat. I tried another web site, but no help.
need help, thanks nick c

There are two faults that cause float needles to leak. The tiny plunger that the float prods can stick in. With a new needle this shouldn't be a problem. Or some dirt has got through from the tank and stuck between needle and seat. Again the new needle should cure it, though I would have blown through with compressed air. However some more dirt may have got stuck and need removing. I always go for turning the tap off, running the engine until it stalls from fuel starvation, then open the tap again. The flush of fuel can clean the needle. Other causes of leaking include a sunk float, either a hole in it or gasket/goo stopping it from closing the needle valve.
